WHAT’S NEW FOR ALFA ROMEO IN 2022

WHAT’S NEW FOR ALFA ROMEO IN 2022

Alfa Romeo is only at the beginning. It appeared that the Italian performance brand's comeback to the United States in 2014 would be brief. The 4C Spider was retired by the premium Italian automotive company last year, and the future of the Giulia sedan and related Stelvio small crossover seemed bleak at best.

Stellantis postponed Peugeot's come back to the US market early this year to concentrate on establishing Alfa Romeo as the company's premium brand, and it’s safe to say it delivered. Alfa said on Wednesday that it will offer a new model every year until 2026, after which the premium brand with Italian performance DNA will solely produce completely electric vehicles from 2027 forward.

Alfa Romeo Tonale

The Tonale is Alfa Romeo's first foray into the subcompact premium crossover market. The Tonale was first revealed as a concept in 2019, and the final product is likely to be quite similar to the prototype, with the Tonale being priced and sized below the Stelvio crossover. The Tonale is likely to come with an eAWD system that employs an electric motor to give power to the back wheels. The complete equipment produces 240 horsepower when combined with a 1.3-liter gas engine. Learn more about the Tonale on our blog here.

2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia

The 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia’s new standard features include a 7.0-inch digital instrument, an 8.8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear heated seats, navigation, and wireless phone charging. A blind-spot monitor, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams are now included as well as an automated emergency braking. 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque are produced by the 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. The Quadrifoglio's 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine delivers 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The performance version of the Giulia Quadrifoglio has been replaced by the new Veloce trim.

2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Automatic emergency braking will come standard on the 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, as will a blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic high beam, and parking sensor. Standard features include a 7.0-inch digital infotainment panel, an 8.8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection capability, heated front and rear seats with navigation, and wireless phone charging capabilities. The Giulia trim line is identical, as are the engine options.
