The all-new Tonale is available in two powertrain options:
- Hybrid: The 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale rides on a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 256 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to ensure an incredible driving experience. Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the highly-efficient engine promises instant acceleration and smooth gear shifts on different terrains.
- Plug-in Hybrid: The plug-in hybrid system runs on a 90 kW e-motor paired with the standard 1.3-litre turbocharged engine and 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. The low-emission powertrain system is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission for smoother gear shifts. It delivers an all-electric range of up to 48 kilometres. It is available with a 7.4 kW level II charger that fully charges the Tonale in just 2.5 hours.
